Story of SPACE
To begin with, founding of SPACE itself is a storty of triumph!
Students and parents left in a difficult situation after an unforeseen closure of their facility for disabled individuals in Pune, India.
Determined parents Smita Paranjape, Manju Kshirsagar and Ujwala Karnik came together and decided to open an activity center on their own for their children and welcome others who were in need. They joined hands under the patronage of the 'Ravi Paranjape Foundation' and committed themselves to create a special place for their own children and many others who have not yet had the opportunity to rehabilitate themselves. That is how SPACE was founded which they could call their own, and where they would thrive.
Space Activity Center is currently being operated at a facility generously made available by Mrs. Kshirsagar. Search for a permanent establishment is underway.
Ravi Paranjape Foundation
'Ravi Paranjape Foundation' was established in early 1998 with a mission to recognize worthy yet unrecognized artists whose contribution to the art and society has remained obscure.
While successfully continuing its core mission, in 2008 the foundation extended its name and financial aid to build SPACE.
